Education
Introduction
Education and training has been part of the philosophy of the Heart of Kent Hospice since its inception. Every year our programmes directly and indirectly support the care of hundreds of patients and families, assisting the delivery of high quality palliative care in varied settings. This support helps enable patients and their families to receive care in the place of their choice regardless of diagnosis.
A range of courses are available, designed to provide and promote knowledge, skills and confidence to professionals in clinical, non-clinical and voluntary roles within healthcare and other key service areas.
Training is provided by a variety of speakers, both from within the Hospice and outside. As well as receiving practical information, attendees are encouraged to develop service and care delivery in their area. Sessions are designed to incorporate a range of learning opportunities through taught theory, reflection, group work, participation and discussion.
In addition to the published programme, tailor made courses or study days may be able to be arranged to meet individual team requirements. We are also able to deliver training in your own location; this may be a tailor made course or one of the courses offered in our prospectus. Please contact us to discuss requirements.
All training occurs at the Heart of Kent Hospice (unless otherwise stated). Tea, coffee and water are included with all courses. Lunches are available at very reasonable prices from our Coffee Shop.
Placements and visits to the Hospice for health and social care staff and other professionals allied to healthcare may be arranged by prior appointment.
If you would like to book a place or receive further details about any of our courses, please contact us or go to the relevant course page and download the printable booking form.
With grateful thanks to Help the Hospices for their generous support of our Training Programmes
