Genzyme chose to support the hospice in 2007 and generated £3000 with staff fundraising. This was raised with various activities such as a charity week in December and a sponsored walk in the summer. The company match fund all income generated by staff. In addition, Genzyme’s parent company in America also donated £9,500 for a specific project.
Bell Equine
Bell Equine, of Mereworth, have made a generous donation to sponsor the William Fox Pitt demonstration to be held at Hadlow College on 24 November 2007.
Maidstone Housing Trust
Maidstone Housing Trust have adopted the hospice as their charity for this year. Staff are participating in their own fundraising initiatives such as a special ‘charity week’ and several staff took part in the hospice organised ‘Moonlit walk’ in June.

Impact IM Ltd
Impact have supported the hospice by providing design and marketing services and advice. They have also designed and built this website. Impact are a full service design and marketing agency with a varied client base whose locations range from London, UK, Europe and North America.
Kent Messenger Group
The KM group chose the Hospice to be their charity of the year for the Maidstone and Malling area. They have pledged to help us raise £30,000 to fund the costs of a staff nurse. In conjunction with another charity, the Kent and Medway Walking Bus project, the KM has also promoted events that have generated new income for both charities.

This was because we felt that, as a community newspaper, we wanted to help a community organisation which works so effectively to support patients, carers, family and friends and continues to support the bereaved. Pillory Barn is a young media agency that specialises in public relations and advertising. with the added skills of event management, media buying and marketing campaign development.
Based at the Maidstone Television Studios, the agency has a strong team who bring together more than 60 years of experience locally and nationally.
Pillory Barn is proud to support the Heart of Kent Hospice as its charity partner and continue to promote their fantastic work raising their profile across the county.
B&Q
B&Q Larkfield have supported the hospice with their ‘better neighbourhood scheme’ and supplied garden furniture and gazebos so that patients may enjoy the outdoors in good weather. Julie Nichols, HR Co-ordinator said” B&Q staff are happy to help and support this worthy local charity” This company also runs an annual grant scheme whereby local charities can apply for goods from the store to help complete a project.

RAP

RAP is a locally based company and having successfully expanded in 2007 felt they wanted to give something back to a local worthy charity. Julie Anderson, New Business Development Manager said “we were amazed to learn how much the HOKH has to raise itself to keep running and offering the care to local people. Having experienced hospice care through our visit to the hospice, their enthusiasm and devotion won our hearts. They are our chosen charity for 2008.”

Towergate
Towergate, through the MIA business, (Medical Insurance Agency) has been providing practable help for the hospice movement for more than 20 years. They are committed to Supporting Hospices at national and local level in addition to providing funds for Cancer Research UK, NSPCC Childline and Great Ormond Street Hospital. Lindsay Prince, charity champion is always supportive and communicates any fundraising activity to all Towergate Partnership staff in the local area. Lindsay and her team in Maidstone raised £32,000 this year with a tandem skydive from Headcorn Airfield.
