Will Making
By leaving a gift to the Heart of Kent Hospice in your Will, you can help us to secure the future of the Hospice providing care services for generations to come.
Every year, cancer claims the lives of more than 150,000 people, with a further one million living with the disease at any one time. One in three of us will experience cancer at some point in our lives. If we do not experience cancer directly, someone we know will – perhaps someone we love.
Working together to support hospice patients and their families is essential and you can make a difference with a gift in your Will.
Making a bequest won’t just benefit our patients and their families, however, it could also help you to reduce your inheritance tax. Did you know that if your total estate is worth in excess of the current inheritance tax threshold, it could be liable for 40% tax? If you decide to leave a gift to the Hospice however, money that might have gone to the taxman will enable us to care for more patients and their families.
When making a will, we would encourage you to make adequate provision for your family first before considering a legacy to a charity. If you do make a bequest to the Hospice it can be a financial gift, or a treasured object from your home, stocks and shares, or a share of whatever is left after you have made necessary provisions for your family and friends. Any gift, of any size, will make a difference to the services that we provide.
Please help us to plan for the future of the Hospice by leaving a gift in your Will. Contact Jennie Hubbard, Head of Fundraising and Marketing, on 01622 790195 if you would like to discuss further.
