Heart of Kent Hospice

My name is Rasa. I am a student, originally from Lithuania. I have been an admin. Volunteer at The Heart of Kent Hospice for the last 4 months. I am quite new here, but when I started I was surprised, that every person is so friendly and helpful in here. I decided to become a volunteer because I wanted to do work experience in the office environment. I chose to do so in The Heart of Kent Hospice because at the same time I can help someone who might need my help and maybe make someone happier. I come in once a week and I really enjoy this time spent here with friendly and optimistic people.

I have been a volunteer at The Heart of Kent Hospice for the last 14 months. I decided to become a volunteer because I wanted to give something back after two of my family had spent time in a Hospice, and after seeing what wonderful care and attention they were given. From the first day that I started I was made to feel welcome and was given plenty of help. I work two mornings a week helping out in the Macmillan office. Everyone is very friendly and always ready to help. I’ve made new friends and enjoy the work. I am made to feel that I am appreciated for what I do and I feel proud to be part of such caring and dedicated people.
