Patient and Family Support
The Community Macmillan Team
The majority of patients will be seen at home by one of our Community Macmillan nurses who will assess their needs and provide information and support both to patients and to their families. This includes detailed information on controlling pain and other symptoms, and social, financial, spiritual and psychological support.
People may need a number of visits and there is no cost.
Family Services Team
Our Family Services Team consists of counsellors, a Social Worker and a Chaplain who provide a confidential listening ear to patients and their families. They specialise in psychological, social and spiritual care from diagnosis to the time following bereavement.
