Patient Services
Therapies
Day Therapy Centre
Our Day Therapy Centre at the Hospice is staffed by a team of nurses and volunteers and offers a wide range of holistic services including therapeutic crafts and activities. These allow patients to spend a day away from home, enjoy creative pastimes and to participate in social activities. Day Therapy also gives their families or carers a day of rest.
Physiotherapy
We offer a physiotherapy service to patients in our Inpatient Unit and to those attending our Day Therapy Centre. The physiotherapist’s role in the Hospice is to help patients with rehabilitation and with being as independent as possible.
Occupational Therapy
The role of the Occupational Therapist is to help individuals maintain the best possible level of independence in all areas of daily life. This may include identifying any special equipment needed to carry out everyday tasks and/or adaptations to the home. We offer Occupational Therapy to patients in our Inpatient Unit, Day Therapy Centre, and at home.
Complementary Therapies
These popular therapies are provided by a Nurse Complementary Therapist and a team of volunteers, who are all qualified therapists. Therapies offered include:
- Aromatherapy
- Body massage
- Reflexology
- Hand and foot massage
- Bowen technique
Complementary treatments and therapies are used alongside medical treatments for patients, and are offered to families and carers to aid relaxation and promote a sense of well-being.
Complementary therapies are provided free to our patients, and to their families and carers for a nominal charge.
