The Patient and Carer Engagement Group gives a voice for the views of patients, carers and families to help develop and improve Hospice services.
The group meets for two hours every eight weeks on a Wednesday afternoon at the Hospice. Attendees discusses a range of topics; from reviewing patient leaflets, policies and procedures to getting involved in any improvements to the Hospice facilities. It also ensures that the views of patients and their families are collected and acted upon.
The members of the group are all Hospice service users, including the Chairman, as they are in a good position to offer their views on how the services are delivered and could be improved.
The group is supported by the Patient Services Director and a volunteer who acts as a secretary, and its work is reported to the Board of Trustees.
