“After being diagnosed with terminal cancer nearly two years ago, I was referred to Heart of Kent Hospice. Not knowing if the Hospice was the right place for me at that time, I plucked up the courage to attend the Monday Living Well drop in session. This turned out to be the best decision I had made in a long time. I had a thoroughly enjoyable morning with cups of tea aplenty, lots of chat and laughter and all the volunteers were so kind and caring.
“I was hooked. The myth of a Hospice being a sad place was gone. Instead, I found it can be a very happy and positive place with much needed support. I always look forward to the next week’s drop-in session and have made some wonderful friends.
“Heart of Kent Hospice has given me a great gift, the love and support of many people including staff, volunteers, and patients and for that I am truly grateful for being referred here in my time of need.”
