Faced with the news that they themselves or a loved one has a terminal illness, people can often struggle with an array of emotions. Searching questions may arise at such a challenging time as we all seek to try and make sense of our experiences, our team are here to help you explore your emotions and we hope you’ll feel more at peace .
The Spiritual Care Team is here to offer you spiritual support and a listening ear. Your individual experience, feelings and views will be respected whatever they may be. For some people, religious care forms part of this, but it is not true for everyone and need not be the case.
Our Spiritual Care Team are regularly available on the In Patient Unit at the Hospice, and at the Hospice we have a multi-faith room, the Olive Tree room, which is also available 24/7 for quiet reflection and meditation.
They are also available at the Hospice Hub and the Bereavement Drop In. You can also request to speak with someone from the Spiritual Care Team if you are a patient or family member living in the community, just give us a call on 01622 792200 ext 260 (please leave a message if we are unable to pick up the phone) or email us on fst@hokh.co.uk
If you would like to see someone from your own religious community or church, our Spiritual Care Team work closely with clergy and faith leaders from across the local community and can try to arrange for them to visit you and your family while you are an inpatient or in your own home.
