Date: 8th June 2019
Heart of Kent Hospice, Preston Hall, Aylesford, Kent ME20 7PU
As the dark winter month give way to warmer, brighter days, we often recall memories of past summers spent outdoors with our friends and family. Simple tasks like taking a cutting from an established plant and seeing the sapling grown and bloom can provide long-lasting memories of years gone by.
When the Hospice, was being built, volunteers from Maidstone Dawn Patrol Rotary Club helped to establish the Hospice garden. Barbara’s son Martin was one of those volunteers. He took a cutting from his father Ivor’s hydrangea and planted it in the new Hospice Garden. Twenty-six years later, his mother Barbara, enjoyed looking at the beautiful plant during a short stay at the Hospice. To read more about Ivor and Barbara’s story please click HERE
Our annual Sunflower Appeal provides friends and families with the chance to remember their loved ones by dedicating a sunflower marker in their memory. Your donations enable us to continue providing outstanding care to members of our local community when they need us most.
We would like to invite you to come into the Hospice on the 8th June from 11:00am and 1:00pm, with a blessing of the sunflowers taking place at 11:30am. You are invited to appreciate our garden, view the sunflower markers and enjoy the refreshments being served from the café.
The Sunflower Appeal is such an uplifting and positive way to remember the life of someone special; by giving today you are ensuring the future of the Hospice, allowing us to continue to support families coping with the loss of someone special.
Please consider dedicating a sunflower in memory of someone special and making a donation to our Sunflower Appeal. Dedications and donations can be made online by clicking the BOOK NOW button at the top of the page.
