Make a Will

Make a Will

Making a Will is vital if you want to be certain that your wishes are met after you die. A Will is the only way to make sure your money, property, possessions and investments (known as your estate) go to the people and causes that you care about.

With the support of seven local solicitors, who have pledged their time for free, Heart of Kent Hospice would like to invite members of our local community to make or update a Will in return for a donation to the Hospice. Appointments are available from 1st – 30th April 2019.

How to make your will during April 2019:

  • Contact one of the 7 participating solicitors before Friday 15th March to make an appointment, stating ‘Heart of Kent Hospice Make a Will Month’ when you call

  • The solicitors will make every effort to make your appointment in the month of April at a mutually convenient time

  • When you book your appointment your solicitor will send you an information pack which will include a Will planner, client response form, key points and donation envelope

  • Donations can be either be handed to your solicitor at your appointment or made online by following this link If you donate online please ensure you take confirmation of your payment to your appointment

  • Our suggested donations are:

    • £120 for a change to an existing Will
    • £160 for a new single Will
    • £200 for a pair of new mirror Wills
    • You are welcome to make any size donation to Heart of Kent Hospice. In recent years a number of clients have donated the commercial rate the Solicitor would normally charge. Your solicitor can advise you on their individual commercial rates

We understand that providing for family and friends is your key consideration when writing your Will, and although we very much hope you will consider making a gift to us, it is not a condition of the scheme. Your solicitor will be able to advise you about this.
