Heart of Kent Hospice is celebrating Dying Matters Week by hosting Outside the Box – A Live Show About Death.
The Aylesford-based charity has invited performer, celebrant and award winning burial ground owner, Liz Rothschild to bring her unique one woman show to Kent to inspire local people to talk more openly about death.
Liz’s insights and experiences have created a highly original, funny, wise and taboo-busting show which confronts the ‘elephant in the room’ with dignity and humour, and asks the audience to embrace mortality and look on the bright side of life.
The performance is being organized by Heart of Kent Hospice as part of Dying Matters Week 2018, a national awareness campaign encouraging people to be more open about death, dying and bereavement.
It is the first time the critically acclaimed Outside the Box has come to Kent and launches a week of activities from the Hospice, which includes hosting drop in sessions in some of its shops and encouraging its followers to talk about death and bereavement on its Social Media pages.
According to Kerry Harrison, Patient Services Director at Heart of Kent Hospice: “We’re delighted to welcome Liz and are privileged to be the first to bring her wonderful show to Kent. Talking about dying and bereavement is a subject that many people find difficult. Hopefully after seeing this beautifully funny and irreverent show, it will empower us all to have those conversations about what we may want for ourselves at the end of our lives and how we may help others affected by death.”
Heart of Kent Hospice is hosting Outside the Box on Monday 14th May 2018 at K-Sports, Cobdown, Station Rd, Ditton, Aylesford ME20 6AU. Doors open at 6.30pm and the performance starts at 7pm.
Tickets cost £10 and can be bought at Hospice Events or by calling 01622 790195.Back to News
