In addition to making cost savings, Heart of Kent Hospice is appealing to its local community to ‘Get Behind’ them as a donor, fundraiser or volunteer. Today, Downs Mail readers in the Malling area receive their cash collection envelopes.
“When we first meet a family, they are often surprised to learn that we are an independent charity, and we have to raise £4 out of every £5 we spend but funding is increasingly difficult to secure” says Ann-Marie Kelly, Director of Income Generation. “Our donors often give because they want to express their gratitude for the support we have given to them and their loved ones, or they want to ensure that we are here for them, if they ever need us. To make sure we are, we need to raise an additional £600,000 this year, and recruit more volunteers in to a wide variety of roles. Our volunteers are the bedrock of our organisation.”
To make a donation and ‘Get Behind’ Heart of Kent Hospice please complete the envelope in the Malling edition of the Downs Mail and send it back to us.Back to News
