242 cyclists got on their bikes on Sunday 8th October for Heart of Kent Hospice’s annual Cyclo Sportive.
The line-up of cyclists included families keen to raise funds for the Hospice in memory of a loved one, to the more competitive riders seeking to beat their personal best.
The circular routes of 36km, 65km and 104km took the cyclists through some of Kent’s prettiest villages and country lanes before arriving back at East Malling Research for some welcome refreshments.
Chief Executive, Sarah Pugh, said: “There was a fantastic buzz around the event and everyone enjoyed themselves. We had a record 78 sign up on the day due to the great weather. We are really grateful to all the cyclists who used their pedal power in support of the Hospice, and our individual and corporate volunteers who worked so hard to make the day a success.
“The cyclists are still collecting in their sponsorship money but we hope to raise nearly £15,000 from the event. This will go directly to providing vital services for patients with a life limiting illness and their families.”
The timing results for the Cyclo Sportive are available on the Hospice’s website at Race ResultsBack to News
