Over the past year community shopping centre The Mall, Maidstone has been more than just a place people go to shop! The staff and a number of retailers have provided visitors with some added extras this year in aid of Heart of Kent Hospice. In February visitors could get fuelled for a busy days shopping by having breakfast for the Hospice. At Easter there were craft activities for the children and a chance to remember a loved one or pet by hanging a sunflower on the memory tree and in December when Santa arrived there was a great buzz of activity for all.
Suzie Brindle, The Mall’s Marketing Manager explains why Heart of Kent Hospice had been chosen as their Charity of the Year 2018. She explained, “we are here to serve our local community, it is synonymous with the work the Hospice does. Many of our visitors will have experienced the outstanding care provided by the Hospice. It’s only right that we do what we can to make sure it is here for patients and their families community now and in the future.”
Staff presented Claire Whybrew, Corporate Partnership Manager, with a cheque for £7,400 bringing the total raised by staff and visitors to a whopping £8,748.88. Claire said, “The Hospice serves the people of Maidstone and its’ surrounding villages. We couldn’t do what we do without the generosity of our business and community supporters. Thank you to everyone who took part in the special events at The Mall or made a donation in The Mall over the last year. ”Back to News
