On the 12 January, Heart of Kent Hospice had a visit from The Worshipful the Mayor of Maidstone Cllr Derek Mortimer. He met with our patients, colleagues and volunteers to find out more about our services and the support we offer our local community. We had a tour of our Hospice, including our Inpatient Unit.
The Mayor said of his visit “It was a real pleasure to tour Heart of Kent Hospice and see the huge range of facilities and services on offer.
“I met the new Patron Geraldine Allinson OBE DL along with many dedicated members of staff and volunteers who support those people and families in our community requiring end of life palliative care.
“It was an absolute honour to meet so many professional, kind and compassionate people in a warm and friendly environment. To have this outstanding community service on our door step when those who may find themselves in need and assistance in most difficult times.
“Maidstone Borough Council looks forward to continuing a strong relationship with the Hospice where we will support and assist this highly valued charity for the future.”
We are so grateful to the Mayor, and Maidstone Borough Council for their continued support.
