Start Date - Sunday 20 September 2020

End Date - Sunday 20 September 2020

Venue - Preston Park, Brighton

Following the decision to postpone the Brighton Marathon in light of the COVID-19 outbreak we understand that this will affect and disappoint our runner supporters immensely.  You will be contacted by Brighton Marathon Weekend regarding your next steps but here is a quick breakdown of the facts regarding your place thus far:

  • Every runner with a secured place in the Brighton Marathon April 2020 event will be able to use their place in the rescheduled event on Sunday 20 September 2020 without any further payment.
  • If you are a ballot place runner and are unable to make the new rescheduled date you will be able to follow the standard deferment process rolling over your entry to next year’s event on Sunday 18 April 2021, on payment of the deferment fee (amount to be confirmed). Please visit the following link for more information:
  • If you are a Heart of Kent Hospice charity place runner and are unable to make the new rescheduled date and wish to rollover to Brighton Marathon 2021 please contact us directly and we will organise a deferral for you.

Your fundraising

We are extremely grateful that you have been working tirelessly to fundraise and really hope that you can continue with your marathon journey. Our dedication and support to you remains the same; we hope that this unfortunate delay drives you to keep on fundraising until the event in September. The money you have fundraised to date is vitally important to us. Whilst we do not yet know what the impact of COVID-19 is going to be on the Hospice, we do know that despite this virus, there continues to be over 800 local people who we are supporting and they will continue to be dependent on us for our skilled, compassionate and specialist end-of-life care. If you do have any donors who wish to have their donations refunded please contact in order for this to be organised.
