As part of International Day of Charity on 5 September, we are asking our supporters to take on a fundraising challenge and try to raise £100 for Heart of Kent Hospice. 

The International Day of Charity was established by the United Nations to raise global awareness and to assist charities to help others through volunteer and philanthropic activities. 

Fundraising for our Hospice couldn’t be easier, here are some simple ideas to get you started: 

1. 10,000 step challenge – can you walk 10,000 steps a day for a week or even a month? Challenge yourself and ask your friends and family to sponsor you!
2. Bake-off – take to the kitchen and challenge your friends to a bake off! Your delicious results can be sold at a sale to fundraise even more.
   
3. Ice bucket challenge – take part in this viral trend from a few years ago. All you need is a bucket, ice water and a phone to record your reaction!
   
4. Invite your friends for a cocktail party - create your own exotic cocktails and invite your friends to make a donation to your fundraiser.
5. Take on a sponsored silence - shhh! Ask friends to sponsor you to not speak a word for 24 hours.

Promote your fundraiser with our free graphics

We've created some banners which you can use on your fundraising pages or on social media to encourage your friends, family and colleagues to donate to your fundraiser. We have left a space blank on our Instagram and Facebook Stories images for you to add in your own text and a link to your fundraising page: 

Don't want to set up your own fundraiser? You can choose to sponsor our Colleague Egg Smash Challenge instead! 

For those of you who don’t want to set up your own fundraising challenge but wish to help us raise vital funds for our Hospice, our colleagues will be putting themselves on the line for your entertainment! You can sponsor our Hospice colleagues as they take on an ‘Egg Smash Challenge.’

Here’s how it works: Colleagues from across the Hospice will be presented with two eggs, one hard boiled and one raw, and they must choose one to smash on their foreheads. It could get very messy, but one thing is guaranteed - everyone will end up with egg on their face!  

We'll be sure to update you with lots of photos and videos of the challenge taking place.
