Heart of Kent Hospice would like to invite you to take part in our annual Light Up a Life Appeal this Christmas time.
Each year our Light Up a Life events give families and friends an opportunity to pause at the start of the busy Christmas season and remember loved ones who are no longer with us. It doesn’t matter if you’ve directly used the Hospice services or not, we’d love you to join us for one of these beautiful candlelit evenings of music, readings and reflection this Christmas. For those of us who have lost loved ones, Christmas can be a particularly difficult time of year. The sense of loss and emptiness is often heightened when there is so much emphasis on celebrating with friends and family.
Many of those who attend take huge comfort from remembering loved ones at this poignant time of year. Dorothy Gorman lost her mum to ovarian cancer 10 years ago and has been supporting our Light Up a Life appeals ever since. “Whether you’ve lost someone recently or a long time ago; they will always be part of your life. I’ve been coming for 10 years so it’s part of our pre-Christmas celebrations.”
Please consider dedicating a star in memory of someone special and making a donation to Heart of Kent Hospice. Dedications and donations can be made online by clicking HERE. Make your dedication by 10 November to be included in this year’s Book of Remembrance.
A donation to Heart of Kent Hospice this festive season would be a very special gift to continue to help patients and their families during what is often the most difficult time of their lives.
