Hosting a charity collection tin is an easy and impactful way to make a big difference.
Why host a collection tin?
We've been caring for adults with terminal illness across Kent, giving people comfort, dignity and the support they need, for free, when it matters most. Less than 20% of our funding comes from the government, so we depend on the generosity of the people of our community to support their local hospice every year.
We can only do this because of people like you, and hosting a collection tin is one of the easiest ways to help: no admin, no cash handling, nothing for you to manage. We'll provide a sealed tin, collect it regularly, and keep you in the loop on the difference your customers' spare change is making.

Looking after your collection tin
Keep it visible
It's crucial the tin is placed somewhere customers naturally look or pause: if it's not displayed, it has no impact!
- Next to the till or card machine
- On a counter top
- In reach and easily accessible
Keep it safe
Your tin should always be:
- In view of staff
- Fixed or anchored where possible
- Away from exits to prevent grab-and-runs
Keep it sealed
Every tin will have:
- A tamperproof seal with a unique number
- A sealed lid – do not open it!
How it works
We will:
- Collect the tin regularly
- Provide a replacement tin that is freshly sealed
- Count and record donations according to charity guidelines
- Provide you with a thank you update
