Could you volunteer for Heart of Kent Hospice?

Thinking of volunteering? Would you prefer to volunteer with a friend or family member?
That's okay with us! Give it a go!
We are looking to recruit ad-hoc volunteers who help occasionally at events, stewarding, hosting stands, generally helping out and working with our long term volunteers and colleagues – we are recruiting right now for our Moonlit Walk on 4 October - we would love to see you there.
What’s in it for you?
- A chance to meet new people and if you want to come along, we can pair you with another person who is also signing up individually, if you would like us to.
- You can have a fun evening out with friends and family taking part in the walk or simply help instead whilst others take part in the walk.
- If you are a student and you need to evidence volunteering time / event support experience, we can provide you with a volunteering statement detailing the time volunteering so you can submit this with your portfolio/references.
- If you are looking for work and would love to show that you are donating your time ahead of securing a new job, again we can provide a thank you letter for you to share with prospective employers.
- We give all our volunteers the opportunity to access free training through our relationship with Kent Adult Education, IT, wellbeing, disability awareness and more.
- You will make a difference to our charity and the care of patients and their loved ones.
- Come along as a group of work colleagues and fulfil your business “day” supporting a local charity.
Still not sure?
- You do not need to handle money, there is no bucket shaking, you can direct anyone who wishes to donate to our long-term trained volunteers and/or colleagues.
- You can drop your query to events@hokh.co.uk or ring 01622 792200 extension 426 and we will answer any questions you might have.
- We offer a shuttle service from our hospice for volunteers, if you plan to get a bus to volunteer, do let us know when you sign up.
- You do not have to have experience – just be kind, helpful and welcoming to all. We will provide you with a briefing and basic training before you start.
