This summer, we'd love to welcome you back to the hospice for our Sunflower Day of Memory. We're here to support you in remembering the joy your loved-one brought to your life.

You are welcome to stop by anytime between 10am-4pm. There'll be 2 sessions of readings and meditation, musicians in the garden playing gentle music, spaces for private quiet reflection, and places to enjoy a hot drink and cake.

No need to book, just drop by 🌻

We're here for you

Coming along to an event like this can feel like a big step, and we want you to know that you'll be in safe, caring hands from the moment you arrive.

Our Family Support Team and Spiritual Care Team will be there throughout the day. They're warm, experienced listeners who are there simply to support you - whether you want to talk, need a moment to gather yourself, or just want a friendly face nearby.

There's no right or wrong way to spend the day. Some people find comfort in talking; others just need to be in a peaceful space and feel less alone. Whatever you need, we'll take our lead from you.

FAQs

Do I need to book a place?

No booking needed - just come along whenever suits you between 10am and 4pm on Sunday 12 July. You're welcome to drop in for as long or as short a time as you like.

Who is the event for?

Sunflower Day of Memory is open to anyone who has lost someone they love - whether they were cared for by Heart of Kent Hospice or not. You're welcome to come on your own, with family, or with friends.

Do I have to attend the remembrance services?

Not at all. The reflective services at 11:00am and 2:00pm are there if you'd like to join in, but there's absolutely no pressure. You might prefer to simply sit quietly in the garden or hospice, and that's completely fine - the day is yours to spend however feels right for you.
