Generous community donate merchandise for Sunflower Remembrance Services

Every year we come together at the hospice for a series of events celebrating the life of our loved ones and this year our annual Sunflower Remembrance Services will take place on Sunday 22 June and Wednesday 25 June.

To help us raise as much as possible from this event, some wonderful companies and volunteers from our incredible community have kindly donated some beautiful handmade merchandise which will be available to purchase at each of the services.

These include:

F.H.Brundle and Medway Fabrication Services have always believed in the power of metal to shape more than just structures; unique creative designs like the sunflowers can help us shape memories, moments, and meaning. The companies have donated 50 unique metal sunflowers which will look amazing in anyone’s garden, window box or indoor flower display. We are suggesting a minimum £30 donation for each of these handmade sunflowers.

F.H. Brundle said: “We are proud to support Heart of Kent Hospice’s Sunflower Appeal and donated the wrought iron sunflowers to one of our longest-standing customers, Medway Fabrications, who brought them to life for a cause that touches so many.”

Workshop foreman and fabricator Amos Payne also kindly made some display stands for the flowers in his own time as a gesture of his appreciation for the work and support that Heart of Kent Hospice does as a wonderful charity.

Provender Nurseries said: "We understand the positive impact that plants can have in a hospice environment, supporting Heart of Kent Hospice seemed like a natural fit. Having visited the hospice, we have seen the peaceful space the volunteers have created. It was a pleasure to donate an Acer tree, which will offer shaded interest and beauty for many years to come."

Miranda Gibbs, In Memory & Regular Giving Manager at the hospice said: “We are truly grateful to all the incredible companies and local groups who have donated these items to support our hospice. Your kindness makes a difference.”
