Help raise funds with a sponsored Moonlit Walk

Create special memories with friends and family by lighting up the night sky on a charity walk on 4 October 2025 where everyone can also experience the magical one mile illuminated trail through Cobtree Manor Park.
The Moonlit Walk will start at Cobtree Manor Park with 10, 5 or 1 mile routes available. All routes pass through a magical 1 mile illuminated 'memory lane' with the 5 and 10 mile routes offering a chance to see Allington Castle lit up at night.
Those walking the 5 and 10 mile routes will also have the opportunity to share a memory of someone special which will be displayed on an illuminated memory wall at Allington Castle.
The evening starts from 5.30pm with some great entertainment, live music, a warm-up event, face painting and the opportunity to purchase a glass of bubbles before the walk begins or a hot chocolate from the café. Walkers will set off at 6.30pm.
Events Manager Maisie Bass said: “The annual ‘Moonlit Walk’ is all about raising funds for Heart of Kent Hospice and celebrating and remembering our loved ones. Heart of Kent Hospice relies on fundraising and donations to continue giving excellent care to those in our community who need our care and support at the end of their lives. This is one of our charity’s most important fundraising events and one which always proves popular with our supporters who return each year to enjoy a Moonlit Walk with their family and friends.”
Book in advance for either the 5, 10 or 1 mile walk and take advantage of the £10 early bird entry offer. From 1 August entry will be £15.
- 10 mile route – £10 fundraising entry (£150 pledge)
- 5 mile route – £10 fundraising entry (£100 pledge)
- 1 mile light trail only – £10 adults / £5 children (no fundraising pledge)
Please note all children under 16 must be accompanied by a paying adult. Children are not required to fundraise.
All our fundraisers will receive a free Moonlit Walk T-Shirt, once you reach £50. Pledged fundraising amounts need to be sent to the hospice by Tuesday 4 November 2025.
There will be trained marshals along the route and there is no rush to complete the walk, which will take around 2 hours for the 5 mile route and 4 hours for the 10 mile route.
All ages are welcome to take part, whether you have a link with the hospice or not and dogs are allowed to come too, but they must be kept on their lead.
