Our May Family Session gets magical
We marked our 35th anniversary with a Family Session to remember
Last Saturday, our monthly Family Session took on a very special feel. A celebration of 35 years of care at Heart of Kent Hospice!
Each month, we welcome families under our care who have children at home. Giving them the chance to come together, spend time with others who understand what they're going through, and get support to help their children make sense of a difficult time.
To mark our 35th anniversary, we threw a proper party. The star of the show was Marli the Magician, who had the children completely spellbound. Wide eyes, gasps, and plenty of laughter, with a few sweets pulled out along the way. Alongside the magic, children could get their faces painted, explore a sensory tent, get hands-on with Play-Doh and toys, and cool off with some water play.
It was exactly the kind of afternoon these sessions are all about! Joyful, light-hearted, and full of moments families will hold onto. A chance to simply be together, have fun, and feel part of a community that gets it.
Our family support team were on hand throughout, ready to chat, listen, and signpost to our bereavement and wellbeing services for any families who needed it.
We're so grateful to everyone who helped make this celebration possible. Here's to 35 years, and to all the families we'll continue to walk alongside in the years ahead.
