Pauline’s gift of kindness on World Kindness Day

As we mark #WorldKindnessDay, we wanted to share a lovely story that perfectly captures the spirit of the day!

Pauline recently spent some time with us on the IPU and has now returned home, where she’s being supported by hospice services. Before leaving, she wanted to say a big thank you to all the staff for their kindness and care.

She asked her daughter to bring in tea, coffee, sugar, squash - and even a bottle of sherry (as she said she’d enjoyed “one or two sherries” during her stay!). She also kindly donated two hairdryers.

Pauline said, “Everyone has been really, really kind. It didn’t matter if it was 3 in the morning or 3 in the afternoon, someone was always there to listen to me.

We’re so grateful to Pauline for her warmth and generosity.
