Senacre jumble sale draws a brilliant crowd

Our Senacre shop jumble sale was a brilliant success at the weekend, raising £470 for Heart of Kent Hospice in just a few hours!
The hall, just round the corner from the shop, was packed all morning with people moving between the two. Eight of our volunteers were on hand for set up, clear down, a raffle and refreshments, and entry by donation alone brought in a good chunk of the total.
It turned out to be a great way of letting people know we even have a shop in Senacre, with several visitors telling us they had no idea it was there. So as well as raising money, we picked up some new faces who'll hopefully be regulars from now on.
There was no shortage of enthusiasm either. One small Spider-Man, aged 4, summed up the mood perfectly: "we'll be coming back!!" Regular customer Felicity left with three enormous bags, telling us she'd "had bags of fun", and one family did such a thorough job of the rails that dad ended up barely visible under the pile of clothes he was carrying.
Everyone wanted to know when the next one would be, so watch this space! We're hoping to run another jumble sale later this year.
A big thank you to everyone who came along, volunteered, or just had a nosey round the rails. Senacre, you did us proud.
