Heart of Kent Hospice has raised £14,746 (£16,461 including gift aid) from its annual Sunflower Appeal.  Three remembrance events were held to bring the Maidstone community together to remember and celebrate loved ones.

Each event took place with the help of some wonderful volunteers and nurses from the Hospice in Magnolia Place and in the adjoining Hospice Garden.

Those who took part were able to take home a printed remembrance card with poems and words of comfort.

The familiar yellow of the much-loved Sunflower were used as the design for the wooden dedication plaques in memory of loved ones.  Refreshments were also enjoyed by everyone and further funds were raised from the sale of plants from the plant stall.

Funds raised will assist the Hospice in continuing to provide care through its drop-in services together with inpatient and home support including to families in the weeks and years following the loss of a loved one.
