As we move deeper into winter, we often start planning for the upcoming months, including festive celebrations and spending time with friends and family.  At Heart of Kent Hospice we know that for many this time of year can be one of mixed emotions as we remember loved ones no longer with us.

Our annual Light up a Life appeal offers you the opportunity to pause during this busy time of year, and dedicate a star in memory of your loved one.  To make your dedication and donation please click HERE. The stars that you have dedicated will be on display in the Hospice until Monday 6 January 2020 and you are welcome to come in and view them.

Our remembrance services which take place annually in November and December are a focal point of our appeal.  Both services offer the chance to come together during the festive period to remember our loved ones, share memories, reflect and listen to beautiful seasonal music and readings. We will have more information about our 2020 events in the new year.

So whether it will be your first Christmas or twentieth Christmas without your loved one – either way, when you attend one of our Light up a Life events you will be welcomed with the same warmth, love and support.  The care that the Hospice provides does not stop when your loved one dies.

Please consider dedicating a star in memory of someone special and making a donation to our Light up a Life appeal.  Dedications and donations can be made online by clicking HERE

Your continued support enables us to continue to care for families just like yours in our local community.

With thanks to Gallagher Group for their support of our Light up a Life Appeal 2019.

Even after Grandad died the Hospice was there for me and my family. I went to the Stepping Stones bereavement group; sharing memories and stories was sad, but there was also a lot of laughter too. It was heart breaking and yet in the warmth and calm of the room it felt a very safe place where everyone was there to help you. It was comforting to know I was not alone and others were going through what I was.
