Thank you to The Queens Head Oddfellows Fund

We would like to thank the representatives from The Queens Head Oddfellows Fund who recently presented a cheque for £1,200 to Heart of Kent Hospice in memory of Rob McCann.

The generous donation was raised from a specially organised family fun day held over the summer, dedicated to honouring Rob and raising money for the hospice.

Rob had long been a dedicated supporter and volunteer at the hospice and spent his final days there receiving end-of-life care.

The Sutton Valence Village Family Fun Day featured a well-attended dog show and classic activities such as tug of war and welly wanging. These festivities raised £1,000, with an additional £200 generated from a BBQ. Staff and volunteers from the hospice also participated in the day’s events.

Shirley Hellar-Cripps, Secretary of The Queens Head Oddfellows Fund, stated: “The Queens Head Oddfellows Fund has been supporting Heart of Kent Hospice for some time. This particular event was held in memory of our dear friend, Rob McCann, who sadly passed away while under the care of the hospice.”

Before his passing, Rob opened a book shop in Sutton Valence, donating proceeds from his book collection sales to benefit the hospice.
