Community beats hospice’s £35,000 target in 35‑day appeal
Heart of Kent Hospice is celebrating an incredible response from the local community after its ambitious 35‑year anniversary appeal surpassed all expectations.
Launched to mark 35 years of compassionate care, the hospice set out to raise £35,000 in 35 days – a target that has not only been met, but significantly exceeded, with supporters donating an outstanding £47,131 including Gift Aid - and that number is still rising!
The appeal, which ran from 27 April to 31 May, captured the hearts of individuals, families and local businesses across the area, all coming together to ensure the hospice can continue to provide vital end-of-life care for those who need it most.
Michelle Winstone, Head of Fundraising at Heart of Kent Hospice, said:
“We are overwhelmed by the generosity of our community. Exceeding our target so significantly shows just how much the hospice means locally. The additional income could fund a further 400 hours of care, on top of the 1,200 planned, helping us continue to provide compassionate, specialist support to patients and their families.”
The success of the campaign marks a memorable milestone in the hospice’s 35th anniversary year, with further events and celebrations planned throughout the coming months.
