Your Hospice newsletter - April 2026 edition
The latest edition of our 'Your Hospice' newsletter.

We're delighted to share the Spring edition of the 'Your Hospice' newsletter with you
In this issue, we celebrate 35 years of compassionate care in Maidstone - and there's plenty to reflect on and look forward to.
We hear from new Chief Executive Ann-Marie Kelly, who shares a heartfelt welcome as she leads the hospice into its 35th year. We also meet patient Hilary, whose remarkable bond with nurse Liz is a beautiful reminder of the truly holistic care our team provides - a story that feels especially meaningful as we mark Dying Matters Awareness Week (4-10 May). We also hear from paramedic Mickey, who explains why having an Advance Care Plan in place can make all the difference.
Joanne takes us through a day in the life of a Community Health Care Assistant - a role that reflects the reality that 90% of the people we supported last year received care solely in the community. While Lord Benny - our beloved therapy dog - tells his own story of friendship and comfort at the hospice.
We celebrate our iconic Bluebell Walk and the people who have supported it since the very beginning, remember the inspiring Rosemary Dufton, who chose to leave a gift to the hospice in her Will, and shine a light on the many ways our volunteers and retail supporters make our work possible.
