Dying Matters Awareness Week 5-11 May 2025
Join us in fostering openness about death, dying, and grief. Together, we can create a more understanding and supportive society.

Dying Matters Awareness Week aims to create a society where people feel comfortable talking about death, dying and grief.
This year we are asked our supporters to wear their hospice forget-me-not flower pin badge between the 5-11 May and show support of Dying Matters Awareness Week. Thank you to everyone who supported the hospice and shared their thoughts about death, dying and grief.

What is Dying Matters Awareness Week?
Dying Matters Awareness Week takes place from 5 - 11 May and focuses on why it’s important to talk about Dying. At Heart of Kent Hospice we use this awareness week to create a culture of openness about death and dying helping people plan and prepare for the future. Starting conversations about dying is often not as hard as you might think.
Honest, timely conversations about death and dying are essential to good end of life care to overcome the barriers, including lack of confidence and taboos around discussing death.
